Red-shirt banners removed

Loud and clear: A woman sitting in a car near the banner printed in Jawi not far from the Masjid Al Huda in Sungai Ara.

GEORGE TOWN: Two banners in Jawi that read “Umarak dan ulamak berpisah tiada. Himpunan maruah Melayu (Leaders and religious leaders cannot be apart. Assembly for Malay pride)” found its way in Sungai Ara and Air Itam here.

The Penang Island City Council removed the banners, which were meant to promote the Sept 16 red-shirt rally in Bukit Bintang.
