KUCHING: A proposed amendment to the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act seeks to harmonise civil and Syariah laws and assist ex-spouses in conversion cases.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri (pix) said the amendment was being drafted by the Attorney-General's Chambers to resolve issues arising from conflicts between civil and Syariah courts when a spouse wants to convert to Islam.
