Hatta: I am not divorcing my wife

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli has reiterated he is not divorcing his wife over his alleged failure to honour his bai’ah (oath of allegiance) with PAS, as his new political vehicle Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has come to his defence.

Dr Hatta said he had no intention of divorcing his wife Dr Kalsom Maskon, nor would he vacate his Kuala Krai parliamentary seat which he won under PAS ticket. Dr Hatta came under pressure to keep to his pre-general election promise to divorce his wife under the triple talak if he ever betrayed PAS’ cause.
