Zahid: Govt does not want any political party using the word Islam

MARANG: The Registrar of Society (RoS) will reject the bid by Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) to register a new political party under the name Parti Progresif Islam.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Government would not make the same mistake as it did when it allowed PAS to incorporate the word Islam in the name of the party.
