Turf clubs feel crippling effects of horse respiratory infections

PETALING JAYA: The spate of illnesses of racehorses at turf clubs across the country could see “crippling effects” on the industry, says Perak Turf Club general manager Soo Lai Kwok.

“The losses to the industry are quite significant. As a horse owner, you have to pay for the training bills, shoeing, food, all these things. The horse owner will suffer a lot as it cannot run when the races are cancelled.
