MACC still probing SRC and RM2.6bil fund channelled into Najib’s account

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is still investigating SRC International Sdn Bhd and the RM2.6bil fund channelled into Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s personal account. In a statement, MACC denied that the commission nor its chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed had issued any statement saying they had stopped investigations into the matter following claims to the contrary made by various quarters.

“As per the earlier statements issued on Aug 3 and 5, 2015, MACC maintains that the RM2.6bil was not from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) but had come from a donor in the Middle East. MACC hopes the quarters concerned will stop issuing statements that will confuse the public and generate a negative perception against the commission.”
