Bestari Jaya fire and rescue officers taking children from a kindergarten in Puncak Alam to safety on a boat after 20 of them were trapped during flash floods.

PETALING JAYA: Fire and Rescue Department officers in Selangor had their hands full as the Tuesday evening downpour left flash floods, landslips and fallen trees around the Klang Valley in its wake.

A team from the Bestari Jaya station was deployed to a kindergarten in Puncak Alam after waters rose to over 1m and trapped 20 children and five teachers inside at about 5.25pm, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul.
