KUALA LUMPUR: The United States has sent an early signal to China that the South China Sea maritime dispute will continue to be pursued at a meeting with its Asean counterparts and at a security forum of 27 countries to be held on Thursday.
State Secretary John Kerry said the US wanted the security of critical lanes and fishing rights to be ensured in the area that is being claimed by four Asean countries, China and Taiwan.
