KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition MPs in the Public Accounts Committee say there is no official letter instructing the body to suspend its functions, so they will proceed with scheduled hearings on 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

They claimed that Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia had misinterpreted Standing Order 77(3) of the parliamentary rule book that allows the PAC to appoint a new member to act as the head in the event the existing chairman is unable to attend the hearings for “any reason whatsoever”.
