‘Refusal shows arrogance’

Day in court: Some of the parties involved in the case waiting at the High Court.

KUALA LUMPUR: MalaysiaKini’s refusal to withdraw articles about the Raub gold mine issue, despite its source having admitted to slander, amounts to sheer arrogance, a lawyer told the High Court.

Counsel Tan Sri Cecil Abraham, acting for Raub Australian Gold Mining Sdn Bhd in its defamation suit against MKini Dotcom Sdn Bhd, said the publisher’s stance flew in the face of the sources and other news organisations withdrawing on the issue.
