KULAIJAYA: All MIC members have been warned not to attend any meetings called by former MIC president Datuk Seri G Palanivel, said the party's acting deputy president Datuk M Saravanan.
Saravanan said those who attended the meetings could face suspension or expulsion from the party.
He said members should be clear that Palanivel no longer possess any power to call for meetings under the party.
"We have given enough clarification to prove that he (Palanivel) and his team are no longer in power.
"Stern actions including suspension or expulsion will be taken on members who still attend the party meetings called by him," he told reporters during a press conference after launching the Naam chili harvesting ceremony here on Sunday.
He added that those who choose to follow Palanivel, especially elected representatives may have to stand as independent candidates in any future elections if the party's higher council decides to suspend or expel them.
