Hakam: The Edge's suspension will affirm public's suspicion

PETALING JAYA: The Government's decision to suspend the printing permits of two publications for their reporting on 1Malaysia Development Berhad will only affirm the public’s suspicions of a large-scale corruption scandal.

The National Human Rights Society (Hakam) said the reason given by Home Ministry to suspend The Edge Financial Daily and The Edge Weekly for three months was an attempt to shut down public discourse on an important issue as it involved billions of ringgit of taxpayers’ money.
