PETALING JAYA: A PKR lawmaker says Malaysia escaped Fitch’s downgrade due to the people having contributed some RM15bil through the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Kelana Jaya MP, Wong Chen (pic) said based on Fitch’s assessment, two of the main reasons for the A- rating were the roll out of GST and the ending of the fuel subsidies.
