GEORGE TOWN: Funds collected from the state’s hotel room tax should be used to upgrade tourist facilities instead of luring airlines to bring in more tourists to Penang.
Penang Gerakan committee member Albert Tan Kah Leong described the state’s proposal to pay airlines US$10 per passenger to promote direct flights from Seoul, Yangon and Bandung as ‘wrong’.
