Firemen attempt to bring the fire under control as Kampun Gusung villagers try to rescue belongings.
KOTA KINABALU: More than 150 people were left homeless when a fire destroyed some 30 houses at the Kampung Gusung settlement in Likas, about 8km from the city, late Saturday.
The fire that started at about 8pm spread quickly, destroying the mostly wooden houses at the settlement located adjacent to the state Fisheries Department’s research centre.
