KOH LIPE (Thailand): More than 400 illegal migrants stranded on a boat off this resort island were given food and supplies and some were taught to navigate the vessel before it was escorted into international waters.
It is believed that the captain of the boat, a Thai, had jumped ship after Thailand’s crackdown on human trafficking syndicates.
