Sarawak NGO calls for amendment to Penal Code after shock rape acquittal

KUCHING: A Sarawak NGO wants the Penal Code to be amended following the shock acquittal of a 60-year-old man on charges of raping a minor. 

The Sarawak Women for Women Society said in a recent statement that public uproar showed that the Penal Code should be amended to incorporate the "sound reasoning behind the Child Act 2001”.
