Decision to visit Lord Buddha’s birthplace saves 19 Malaysian karate exponents


The Malaysian group made up of 16 martial art exponents aged between five and fifteen and three adult coaches were on their way to Lumbini, about 200 kilometres from Kathmandu, when a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Himalayan nation.

The group are members of the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor branch of the Kobe Osaka Karate Association, including nine girl exponents from Kuala Lumpur and Klang.
