Wee: Focus on non-Malays first

If there are too many restrictions, they (foreign students) might just go to another country.

SUBANG JAYA: Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka should focus on improving command of the Malay language among Chinese and Indians instead of mooting a Malay proficiency test for foreign students, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He was referring to DBP’s proposal to introduce a Malay Language Qualification Test (UKBM) to foreign students studying at local public and private universities.
