KUALA LUMPUR: A working group has been set up by the Home Ministry to explore alternatives to detention (ATD) for the more than 1,000 children held in detention centres across the country.
The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) said it is working with the Immigration Department, Attorney-General’s Chambers, Department of Social Welfare and non-governmental organisations on the matter.
