GEORGE TOWN: A slow, scenic ride over the water from George Town to Butterworth. No, Penang is not reviving the dwindling ferry service. The state is planning a 3km cable car system to connect Penang Sentral in Butterworth to Gat Lebuh Noordin on the island.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng expects “Penang Sky Cab” that will transverse the Penang Channel to be operational in three years.
