KUCHING: Proposals to allow human trafficking victims freedom to move about and work while awaiting their court appearance could compromise their safety as well as their reliability as witnesses, said Bukit Aman.
This comes after Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tabled amendments to the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act, which would allow such victims freedom of movement and even employment of up to two years, depending on their protection order period.
