GEORGE TOWN: Three days of prayers are being held to commemorate the first death anniversary of DAP stalwart Karpal Singh.

The Akhand Paath prayers, from today to Sunday afternoon, are held at the Wadda Gurdwara Sahib in Jalan Gurdwara here.

Karpal’s son, Gobind Singh Deo, who is Puchong MP, said priests will recite the Sikh holy book, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, round the clock.

“A year has passed since Karpal’s death and the loss is felt not just by the family but everyone in Malaysia.

“He is irreplaceable,” Gobind said.

Karpal and his aide, Michael Cornelius, died on the spot on April 17 last year when the MPV they were travelling in collided with a five-tonne lorry at 306km near Gua Tempurung on the North-South Expressway.
