MCMC confirms prepaid reloads subject to 6% GST

PETALING JAYA: Communications services including prepaid reloads will be subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on Friday. 

"From the beginning, communications services have not been included in the list of items which are exempted or zero-rated from GST, which means that consumers will have to pay GST for these services," said MCMC chairman Datuk Seri Dr Halim Shafie in a statement.
