KUALA LUMPUR: A lively debate ensued in the Dewan Rakyat on whether ketum leaves should be classified as a dangerous drug from both Barisan Nasional and Opposition MPs.
Two MPs from opposite sides of the political divide even agreed that more time should be given to educate the public, especially in rural areas, that the leaves would soon be illegal for consumption if the Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) (No.2) Bill 2014 is passed.
