KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has deemed the Poverty Eradication Programme (1Azam) as "problematic", with various weaknesses in its implementation.
PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (pic) (BN - Pulai) said among the weaknesses of the initiative to provide employment opportunities to the hardcore poor, were the short guarantee period of equipment like sewing machines, ovens and refrigerators provided to participants of the programme.
