KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming March 7 rally to protest the imprisonment of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was deemed illegal as it may possibly contain speeches which could violate the Seditious Act, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim (pic).
He added that anyone who gathered with the intention of intimidating the Government or any individual would also be violating the law under Section 141, 142 and 143 of the Penal Code for unlawful assembly.
