Tougher stand on people trafficking

PUTRAJAYA: The amendments to laws on preventing human trafficking will help to strengthen Malaysia’s efforts in combating human trafficking, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Bill, which will be tabled in Parliament next month, will ensure that Malaysia’s actions against human trafficking are in tandem with international standards.
