KUALA LUMPUR: The much-anticipated teleconference with Sirul Azhar Umar, who was convicted for the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu, did not live up to its billing when he only called to give an update on his wellbeing.
In a three-minute telephone conversation with PAS information chief Datuk Mahfuz Omar yesterday over a phone speaker, the man believed to be Sirul read a statement without making any ground-breaking revelations as expected.
