PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s aim of better preparing for weather calamities and predicting disruptive events such as flooding has received a boost with the advent of a first-of-its kind “supercomputer” in Britain.
The Met Office of Britain will begin operating a new RM532mil High Performance Computer, which is able to forecast updates every hour and provide very high detail weather information for precise geographical areas, in September.
