KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak tycoon Datuk Seri Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib (pic) did not know that his former wife Shahnaz A. Majid is still a single mother following their divorce in 2011, a Syariah High Court here heard Wednesday.
Mahmud, 52, who is the son of Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, was responding to a question by Shahnaz's Syarie Counsel Akbardin Abdul Kadir during cross-examination in the RM100mil mutaah (Islamic conciliatory payment) claim as a divorce settlement trial filed by Shahnaz.
