Father, teen daughter killed in Sabah horror accident


KOTA KINABALU: A 58-year-old man from Johor and his teenage daughter were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry tanker in Sabah’s east coast Kinabatangan district.

The driver of the Toyota Prado four-wheel drive vehicle Lim Get Liong and his 19-year-old daughter Lim Ser Yun were killed on the spot after their vehicle crashed into the oncoming Shell lorry tanker at KM103 Sandakan-Lahad Datu on Wednesday.

The 43-year-old lorry driver from Sandakan suffered chest injuries and was admitted to the Kinabatangan hospital, according to the police on Thursday.

Lim was on his way from Sandakan towards Lahad Datu when the accident occurred at 5.10pm.

Investigations are under way and the bodies have been sent to the hospital for a post-mortem.
