Court throws out Government’s suit

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has thrown out a suit against the organiser of the Bersih 3.0 rally in 2012, ruling that the committee is not liable for damage caused to public property during the assembly.

High Court judge Justice John Louis O’Hara said there was nothing wrong with the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) 2012 but the Government should have gone after the participants of the rally who are the real perpetrators of the damage.
