Get help from tax consultants and accountants, SMEs urged

PETALING JAYA: Owners of small and medium-enterprises (SMEs) who are still confused on how to implement the 6% Goods and Services Tax (GST) should immediately seek help from tax consultants and accountants.

Secretariat for the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs (SAME) chief executive officer Neil Foo (pic) said there were SME owners, for instance from the retail sector, who think that they just have to impose an additional 6% tax as GST, above the existing 10% sales tax that has been built into their supply chain.
