SHANGHAI: The New Year’s Eve stampede here, which killed 36 people including 20-year-old Malaysian Tan Wei, showed “critical neglect”, the mayor of the Chinese commercial hub said Sunday.
Mayor Yang Xiong, however, insisted that those responsible for the neglect had been held accountable.
