PETALING JAYA: Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming has rubbished claims that local council elections could lead to another May 13 but would instead increase the level of accountability and transparency in local councils.
Ong denied suggestions that DAP would dominate such contests as the ethnic composition of many of the urban councils have changed significantly since the May 13 incident in 1969 because of the large migration of Malays from rural to urban areas.
