52 illegal immigrants detained in Lahad Datu


LAHAD DATU: Fifty two individuals believed to be illegal immigrants were detained in a special integrated operation jointly carried out by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) and Lahad Datu district enforcement division here Friday.

State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman said the operation which started at 9.30am was joined by various state and federal agencies and was aimed at cleaning up Lahad Datu town centre of illegal immigrants.
