PETALING JAYA: Embroiled in a family dispute, a husband ran amok and crashed his lorry into eight vehicles before he was arrested at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) quarters on Friday.

Neighbours told reporters that the 29-year-old lorry driver had visited his in-laws in Pangsapuri Permata Sari, where his estranged wife had been holed up.

They had an argument and the man stormed out of the apartment and got into his lorry.

Serdang OCPD ACP Razimi Ahmad said the man reversed his car into his father-in-law’s Toyota Avanza and Proton Iswara as a way of getting back at his in-laws.

“While doing that, the suspect also hit four other cars, including a Proton Wira, Gen-2, Perdana and a MyVi.

"He had also backed his lorry into two motorcycles,” said ACP Razimi.

In the course of the "stunt," the man crashed into the wall surrounding the apartment complex, part of which cracked and fell. The suspect also damaged a fence.

The commotion drew a large crowd of residents. The police came later and arrested the man at about 10am. He is being investigated for causing mischief, said ACP Razimi.

In a separate incident in Subang Jaya, a chase by police on a suspected house burglar ended with three vehicles damaged.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli said a police patrol unit spotted a man in a white MyVi, reported stolen in Shah Alam, in Persiaran Jengka at about 10.15am.

The man is believed to have earlier robbed a 24-year-old man in his Jalan SS15/5B home, taking money, electronics items, bank cards and the victim’s car keys.

“When the officers tried to inspect him, the suspect fled and we gave chase. As he was fleeing, the suspect crashed into two vehicles in Persiaran Jengka and SS15/1G,” said ACP Yahaya.

The chase ended in PJS 10 where the suspect crashed into a Nissan car and was apprehended.

The suspect is a wanted drug offender and a small amount of ganja and heroin were found in the car.
