KUALA LUMPUR: The move to have Jawi script alongside romanised Malay letterings on signboards at all institutes of higher learning and schools in Malacca is in the spirit of upholding Malay as the national language, said Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan.
He said the institutes of higher learning and schools in the state were merely encouraged to include Jawi on their signboards.
