PETALING JAYA: The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) “regrets” the Government's decision to retain the Sedition Act, especially since Malaysia has just assumed two important international positions.
"Suhakam regrets the Government’s announcement to retain the Sedition Act and to strengthen it with additional provisions, despite its undertaking in 2012 to repeal the repressive and obsolete law," said acting Suhakam chairman Datuk Dr Khaw Lake Tee in a statement on Friday.
