KUALA LUMPUR: Asean may have come a long way, but Malaysia will still need to hit the ground running when it chairs the regional body next year.
Tan Sri Ajit Singh (pic), who served as Asean’s first secretary-general from 1993 to 1997, said Malaysia would need to maintain the pace of work being done to integrate the 10-member countries into a single Asean Community and help manage the region’s thorny issues.
