PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak advised people not to spread false information about the Ebola outbreak.

He said the Health Ministry was fully-prepared to face any possible outbreak of the virus in the country.

He said the ministry had already intensified its screening of the deadly virus at all international entry points across the nation.

“All the government hospitals are also in a state of preparedness in cases where the virus is identified," he said in an audio recording posted on his blog on Friday.

The virus was first detected in West Africa and now has spread to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Spain, Nigeria, and the United States.

Najib said any queries or information on the virus can be obtained from the Health Ministry at 03-80008000.
