JOHOR BARU: A 28-year old burger seller has been sentenced by the Sessions Court here to a 16-year jail term for raping a 15-year old girl.
Hairul Lisan Husin was found guilty by the court of raping the 15-year-old in a house in Kampung Melayu Pandan at around 3.15am on January 10.
According to the facts of the case, the accused had brought the victim to the house and raped her before abandoning her at a karaoke centre.
Judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin found Hairul Lisan guilty of the offense under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
Hairul Lisan could have faced a maximum 20-year jail term with whipping upon conviction.
