PUTRAJAYA: The effective date for the new level of tint allowable for the rear windshield and passenger windows of cars has been deferred to May 1 next year, says Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad.
The original date for the enforcement of the new regulation, where car owners could tint their rear passenger windows and rear windscreens up to 70% (or 30% of Visible Light Transmission), compared to 50% now, was Nov 1.
