PETALING JAYA: The new policy allowing the rear windows and rear windscreens of vehicles to be tinted up to 70% is to strike a balance between comfort, safety and security, according to the Road Safety Department.
Its director-general Datuk Dr Tam Weng Wah said the Transport Ministry decision was made after taking into account the views of government agencies, manufacturers and non-government organisations.
