Moderate earthquake hits Sunda Straits, no tsunami threat detected


KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 10.39pm Saturday in the Sunda Straits, Indonesia.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the quake was 151km southwest of Bandar Lampung, Indonesia and 893km southeast of Johor Baru, Johor.
