Movie director Jamil Sulong dies

KUALA LUMPUR: Film director Datuk Jamil Sulong passed away after suffering from stroke at his son's residence in Bukit Utama, Damansara at about 9.30pm Thursday. He was 88.

Jamil's works included Ranjau Sepanjang Malam, Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup, Si Tanggang and Lela Manja.

His films have won numerous local and international awards.

Jamil is survived by his wife Datin Rosnani Jamil and three children.
