KLANG: Selangor PAS has no idea whose names the party’s central leadership will be submitting to the palace as mentri besar candidates.
Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad issued a statement saying that the state chapter did not send any names to the central leadership to be forwarded to the palace.
“Selangor PAS has not forwarded any names of potential mentri besar candidates to the party although we had had several meetings with our central leadership,’’ said Iskandar.
Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had ordered PAS, DAP and PKR to submit more than two names as potential candidates to replace Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
Speculation was rife that the cleric group in Selangor PAS wanted the party’s central leadership to include Iskandar’s name in the list as well.
It is believed all three parties have already sent their names to the Selangor palace.
