PETALING JAYA: Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has given Pakatan Rakyat until Sept 3 to submit more names for the mentri besar post.
In a letter from the palace issued on Wednesday to PAS, PKR and DAP, the pact was instructed to give more names by Sept 3, despite the insistence by PKR and DAP to stick to just the PKR president’s name.
The letters addressed to PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng request for the three parties to nominate more than two names each for the post of mentri besar.
“We have received the letter today and I have informed party president about it,” said PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Saifuddin said the letter requsted the party to submit the names by Sept 3, adding that he would wait for further instructions from Wan Azizah.
