KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a woman who allegedly buried a foetus behind the Julia Apartment in Bandar Baru Selayang.
The petite woman, in her 20s, wore a face mask as she led a police forensic team to the site at about 10.50pm to recover the remains.
Local resident Darus Baharom, 51, said poor lighting and thick foliage made it difficult for police to locate the spot where a deep hole was dug to discard the foetus.
Another resident who declined to be named said the woman was married with two children, aged between two and five.
The woman was believed to have taken some form of medication to induce a miscarriage as the family was not able to afford a third child.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said police were investigating the case.
